Valium (diazepam) is a medicine classified as benzodiazepine. It's available by prescription and can be used for treating anxiety disorder and depression in people older than 18. The liquid form comes with a special dropper to measure the right amount of this medicine. You will need to make sure you measure the exact amount necessary, as taking more is not going to make your treatment more efficient. Taking more of Valium can be very dangerous and lead to an overdose with such symptoms displayed as extreme drowsiness, confusion, weak muscles, shallow breathing, and fainting. An overdose of Valium can be fatal – which is why you will be supposed to seek emergency medical help in any of such cases. Tell your doctor if you develop any serious side effects such as anxiety, fever, hallucinations, depressed mood, confusion, flu symptoms, yellowing of the skin or eyes, unusual thoughts, body aches, and shallow breathing. You can carry on with your treatment if you get such mild side effects as constipation, weakness, difficulty urinating, nausea, drowsiness, tiredness, dizziness, changes in sex drive, changes in appetite, dry mouth, diarrhea, and blurred vision, as they can just mean your body needs some time to adjust to the dose prescribed.
